I remember this band came through with 1919 and I think their sets combined to about 15 minutes. I never got to see Song of Zarathustra the first time around, so this seemed like the next best thing. I think this may have been the first time I met Travis and Jamie. Holy shit, was I floored by this band. I tried many times to release this set. I can't remember if Nick had plans to do so or Greg or what, but I listened to this thing to death. The drummer was a monster. I believe they had some lineup changes shortly after this tour, but I don't believe they ever came east again.

unsure who took this pic (1919 folk, likely), but this is actually in WNYU.

Oh and working on this got me back in touch with Travis, who is still making music, thankfully.

It's rare that a band, or vocalist alone accomplishes to portray this amount of emotion through music. It's one thing to sound heavy, but another to feel heavy, and only few truly achieve it. Closet Witch is one of those Bands to me. mynameismud

There is something purely authentic and honest about Infant Island's music. These songs are substantial in their impact that go deep under the surface. The sound mix is everywhere (track 3 on headphones?!?!) with some of the slower nuanced moments giving needed space for maximum effect when the violent intensity hits. But on career highlight "Awoken," they leave nothing behind. A must hear song from an increasingly important band. bcb723
